As soon as you begin, turn around and go through the door you just entered from to reach Secret Room 16. Afterwards, you'll see a large sphere hovering around a circle of purple glowing octahedrons as well as some sargasso looming around. This part is hell, fair warning. Avoid the Sargasso, they infinitely respawn, and destroy the octahedrons while running within the area the lightning allows. Use of R2 will help prevent Dante from targeting the Sargasso enemies. Destroying all of the floating octohedrons will cause a trap door to appear below the sphere (which stops at this point). The person typing this recommends you upgrade your missile launcher when you fall down. Take the large health orb in the room too! Continue down the corridor smashing the casks for red orbs. Before reaching the door at the end, smash the final cask on your left and enter the alcove. Interact with the wall to enter the second Secret Room of this mission: Secret Room 17. After you finish that, continue in and you’ll reach a cutscene with Lucia who will hand you a piece of the Arcana after that you'll get a cut scene of Plutonian.

Basically, you can just stay back far enough out of range (approx. 2 of the floor tiles long) of its ball and chain and you'll never get hit. Ignore your other weapons, and just shoot your missile launcher at it. After a while some agonofinis will show up to help it, and laser beams will also appear. The laser beams are pretty easy to dodge, so just concentrate on Plutonian and you should be all right. You might need to run up to him to get him to stop twirling his ball and chain that deflects your shots. After that, take the elevator up and have a cut scene with Matier. She will ask you to go help Lucia with Arius.
