In this mission, you have to reach the other end of the area where there is a Blue Orb Fragment. This is the most challenging version of Trial of Skill, with the fastest pins.

Location[]

This one can be found in one of the glowing panels above the ledges in the Pitch Black Void area in Mission 17. You will be transported to the Trial of Skill - the preceding room you have just passed to get up here.

Strategy[]

Dante[]

Use Trickster Style. A simple Dash or a maxed out DT can be helpful. But this time, one row can poke out two dimensions like further in Mission 17 when you reach the Trial of Skill. It could be Up+Left, Up+Right, Down+Left or Down+Right. Unlike in Mission 6, there is only one dimension: Up, Down, Left and Right. Therefore, you will have only one "quarter" of safe space left to pass through with each row. For instance:

If you are passing through a single row with pins emerging above and in the left, then go to your lower right.

If you are passing through a single row with pins emerging above and in the right, then go to your lower left.

If you are passing through a single row with pins emerging below and in the left, then go to your upper right.

If you are passing through a single row with pins emerging below and in the right, then go to your upper left.

To make things much, much easier (for Dante only), just Dash when the pins are about to hit you, taking advantage of the invincibility frames. Moreover, jumping then performing Sky Star makes passing through the lower rows (the two latter ones enumerated above) much easier. Repeat this process until you get to the Blue Orb Fragment.

Vergil[]

Vergil's Darkslayer Style actions are just as good here as Dante's Trickster. The simplest way to pass this challenge is as follows: you have to face in front of the camera and perform Trick Down over and over. Tap Button ps4 ls-down, then hold Button ps4 r1 and quickly Button ps4 ls-up+Button ps4 circle. Then you will teleport backwards. Repeat this until you reach the end. If your timing is good, you can also just perform any style action for Vergil and use invincibility frames, that they offer not to take damage from spikes.
