PART 1: https://youtu.be/pMhem6M5gWc
Just something I wanted to quickly get out there now that a Switch port has been announced. I'd really like for Capcom to see this, along with the video I put out a year ago. Any help with that is appreciated!
Instead of forcing folks to read a whole bunch of text, decided I'd try doing a voice over. This is my first time doing something like this so let me know if you hate it, I can always go back to strictly using text when I do another video like this.
This video has English subtitles! If anyone would like to contribute subtitles for other languages, feel free to do so.
List of problems in text form:
Audio - Many ambient tracks fail to loop seamlessly - Many sounds play at the wrong speed / pitch - Music may be lower in quality than the PS2 release (unsure) - Inconsistent volume levels
Fullscreen distortion effects - There's an inferior distortion effect in underwater / underworld sequences - Greatly reduced or missing heat haze effects - Lower quality effect when using doors
Other effects - The effect used on Griffon when he appears and disappears is incorrect - Griffon's chest doesn't open up, his ribs remain in place at all times - Object motion blur used in specific instances is missing - Distance fog is missing or severely toned down - The ripple effect upon entering portals is missing - Depth of field blur in the cutscene in Dante's office is missing
Textures - Many effects that use sprite rotation look incorrect - Many skyboxes look significantly worse (this may also relate to the removal of distance fog) - Ocean textures look noisier and lower in resolution - The rain in the area where you fight Griffon for the third time is missing - The upscaling and sharpening filter used across all textures in the game is somewhat ugly or even destructive at times. Better texture upscaling methods exist today (Waifu2x, ESRGAN, Gigapixel, etc.)
