HD Nero Snatch Grim Grip

Nero using Hell Bound while on a Continuum Pad to latch onto a temporary Grim Grip.

The Grim Grip is an object that appears in Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5.

In Devil May Cry 4, Grim Grips are blue, shining orbs that float in the air, and may either remain stationary, move around, or warp from point to point, depending on the area and difficulty level. They serve primarily as a mean of transporation for Nero.

In Devil May Cry 5, Grim Grips retain their gameplay properties, but their design was significantly changed, although they still glow blue once Nero or Vergil are able to grapple towards them.

Gameplay

Devil May Cry 4

Once the player obtains the Evil Legacy, they can use the "Hell Bound" technique to grapple onto a Grim Grip, allowing the character to travel across gorges or elevated areas without falling.[1] Some Grim Grips can only be revealed by standing on a Continuum Pad; however, not all Grim Grips require a Continuum Pad to be utilized. Despite the fact that Dante traverses the same areas as Nero, he does not encounter any Grim Grips.

Sanctus, in both his normal and Diabolica forms, can summon flying miniature demons that the player can stun and use, similar to Grim Grips.

A Continuum Pad

A Continuum Pad is a platform, often set near a cliff or ledge, which is used to reach invisible Grim Grips or distant Grim Grips that would be impossible to reach using Hell Bound alone.[1] In these cases, if there is no Continuum Pad on the other side of the path, the Continuum Pad and Grim Grip effectively act as a one-way gate.

Devil May Cry 5

Grim Grips first appear in Mission 3, which allow Nero to jump through several rooftops.

DMC3 Dante Got to clean up the mess father left behind.
