Mundus is the overarching antagonist of Netflix's Devil May Cry.
He is the all-powerful king of Makai and the former master of the Dark Knight Sparda. Mundus desired to expand his rule beyond the confines of the demonic realm by setting his sights on the human world until he was betrayed and imprisoned by his former right-hand.
Following the fallout of Sparda's betrayal, Mundus' forces has kept his subjects in a perpetual state of oppression and suffering in order to secure his reign.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Immortality: Mundus is an extremely ancient and transcendent demonic being. He was well into his prime 2,000 years ago when Sparda rebelled against him. Mundus is still alive and in excellent condition as of the 21st century.
- Near Omnipotence: Mundus has been described as near omnipotent; suggesting his supernatural powers are immense. His power is so immense that even the near omnipotent dark knight Sparda could not kill him, forcing him to seal him away instead.
- Demon Magic: Mundus is a strong practitioner of magic and is a highly accomplished sorcerer, however not even he is able to break Sparda's spell that divides the worlds.
