The Orangguerra is an enemy in Devil May Cry 2. It is first encountered by Dante in Mission 3 as the level boss. Dante encounters it again in subsequent levels, while Lucia fights it only once in Mission 4. In the Devil May Cry HD Collection, the player will achieve the award "Monkeying Around" for defeating it.

Description

Orangguerra

Orangguerra

Orangguera is a orangutan-like demon that appears in Devil May Cry 2. It appears to be a gigantic version of the Msira demons, and is a hostile monster with prodigious strength and agility[1]. It has heterochromatic eyes, one is gold and other is silver.

Strategy

With its thick skin it is hard to harm this monster with your starting weapons. It uses its large arms to strike at enemies and it can latch onto the ceiling and climb to another area to perform an attack. They will try to smash their enemies with their weight or throw you. Though this is hard to have happen, if you attack its arms, you will cut one arm off, making the beast much easier to fight.

A good way to get rid of him is shooting at him from a distance, and constantly avoiding his jumps. Also, you might want to stay away from him when he hangs on the ceiling, to avoid his stomping. When the Msiras start appearing, focus on the Orangguerra to finish him quickly.

Background

The word guerra is a Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese term meaning war. The Oranguerra term could mean "war monkey" or "war orangutan".
