Prologue -Vergil- 1 is a cutscene in Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. It plays at the start of Mission 01.

Plot

Arkham approaches Vergil in order to learn more about Sparda. However, he has his own evil intentions in all of this.

Vergil: That's not what I'm looking for. Leave me!

Arkham: Then what ARE you looking for? A demon that impregnates a woman, who then bears twin sons... That's the story, isn't it?

Vergil: Leave me. I won't tell you a third time.

Arkham: People inherently fear evil. However... occasionally, a person may become seduced by evil.

Vergil: What are you getting at?

Arkham: Share with me. The story of Sparda...

Trivia

• This cutscene is a shortened adaptation of a scene in Devil May Cry 3 Code:1 "Dante". Main difference is the absence of the woman accompanying Arkham, that Vergil kills in the manga. Another is different appearance of characters – game uses model of Vergil with slicked back hair, and Arkham with facial scar.
• Due to the aspect ratio change in the HD collection, it's possible to see the book Vergil is holding completely disappear when he holds it near the book shelf, which would normally happen off-screen.
