Devil May Cry Wiki

Suffer is a boss theme from Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, played during the battle with Cerberus and Beowulf. The track was composed by Tetsuya Shibata as well as written/perfromed by Shawn "Shootie HG" McPherson of Hostile Groove. The song is included in the Devil May Cry 3 Original Soundtrack ("Cerberus Battle" (Disc 1, Track 13) and "Beowulf Battle" (Disc 2, Track 13)) and the Devil May Cry 3 Sound DVD Book - Raising The Devil ("Roar of Anger" (Track 02) and "Gigantic Guardian" (Track 08) for Cerberus and Beowulf versions respectively) as well as the Dangerous Hits compilation ("Beowulf Battle" (Disc 1, Track 19)). On Shootie HG's personal website, he labels the tracks in the Devil May Cry Sound Box as "Frozen Doggy Treats" and "Can't Stand Your Stink" respectively[1].

You got nothin' and nothin's got you,
I can see your fear, it surrounds you,
Built with strife and insight, but it’s not enough,
I'll defeat and discreet your every move,

Instinctual, just take your life,
One step, one breath, you’re under my knife,
Killing slow is the way I conquer,
The torture test can't wait no longer,

With your first step you will burn,
Can’t control the hate you have learned,
Killing slow is the way I conquer,
Until you know the meaning of suffer,

Step twice you invite and welcome death,
Pay homage to me with your last breath,
Say goodbye to a life that you once knew,
Along with every being that was before you!
