  • For starters whether or not hes more powerful then sparda it is implied that hes more powerful then sparda, starting with phantom suggesting it, of which at this point you will probably not even have gained all the upgrades.

Second, his exact powers. if he was more powerful then sparda, he was more powerful then mundus and abigail. They could create demons, use lazer beams of destruction, and nearly kill dante. Mundus could even create a whole new universe. All dante has demonstrated was superhuman condition, limited lighting and demonic energy manipulation, and invunerability in his most powerful demon form, majin form (I suppose he is more powerful then sparda, because eben he was not invunerable and neither was mundus, and as crappy as the game was, its still cannon.) Maybe hes like a nigh omnipotent guy that like fighting with his barehands, like ronnie schattio.

Lastely, his devil trigger, and how much mental punishment he could take. They were never consitent with his Demon form, for is the majin form is final form (see final form or zenith on superpiwer wiki for details.) Or was it perfect devil trigger. But how would he go insane from the power when he clearly is more powerful thean any other demon. Guess even the most benelovent people can crack from power.

Also, super dante. He can weaponize cosplaying as sparda, thats fine, but how it work. Is the devil trigger guage just a gaming limitation or not? Can he freely switch in reality or not?!

    • As for the devil trigger, he could just be a fan of freziza. Yeah I know, crappy joke, moving on.

    • Whether or not Dante is stronger than Sparda can be hard to determined. Phantom said Dante was stronger, but Dante needed Sparda to defeat Mundus. Phantom could have been referring to his potential.

Not everyone has the same ability sets. Vergil and Dante in DMC3 were about the same level, yet Vergil was capable of hardcore teleportation and energy constructs. Dante uses his power to augment and enhance.

Super Dante is a gameplay mechanic.

    • First of all, Dante has to be the most powerful demon in the aeries because he is the only one that is invincible in majin form but still. AlsoDante has the most projectile attacks not counting variotions on the same attack. And superfante may not entirely be a gameplay mechanic because in the cutscenes, he can do crazy stiff, so the limits on devil trigger might just be mechanics as well. Also devil may cry 2 is the only game where dante uzes his devil trigger to gert something done

He didn't "need" Sparda, he transformed into Sparda naturally. Essentially he just took on his form (since he's obviously half Sparda, being his son and everything.)

Dante may have been on par with Sparda's power in DMC1 but now after DMC4 and 2, Dante has clearly surpassed his father in power. It's a genetic thing.

    • No he needed Sparda. He only took on Spardas form because he was using Sparda to DT. Without drawing power from it, he wouldn't have won. The game even says the other Devil Arms when you try to switch to them.

"Genetic thing" isn't a legitimate reason for Dante having surpassed Sparda. Genetics would mean nothing if Dante wasn't a Demon Hunter. By the end of DMC2 he definitely is stronger considering he killed Despair Embodied.

    • also, it has to be noted that dante cant use his demonic magic in actual spells. Despite having a mana bar, all he can do is burn though it to use devil trigger. arius and dante used the same demon magic, only difference is that arius was more skilled in it and dante had more powerful abilities.

    • There is a difference between magic and demonic energy in the series. Arius used magic but was human. Dante has demonic energy but is not versed in magic. Magic seems to be the use use of various energies to perform spells and other magical feats.
