  • I have been a big fan of Devil May Cry for quite a few years now. One question I have always wondered about is how Dante carries his guns around and where he carries them. In DMC 3 he carried them in holsters straped to his red coat, but in other games and even the anime it was inconsistant. Dante would always look as though he was either drawing them out of his belt from behind or from under his coat despite not having any holsters in either of those places on his character models. I know that Dante might be pulling them out from nowhere like his other weapons but then giving him a holster in DMC 3 would have been practically pointless.

Dante Fighting the Order of the Sword

    • Yeah that is so funny, I've wondered, I am guessing if you look they materialise when you switch guns, or swords. He is part demon afterall, but yeah still what is the physics? Eh, all I want to know How are Dante's bullets and Artemis' s bullet made? I've made a theory for Artemis 's. Do you want to see it?

Well, you are in Temen-Ni-Gru, a demonic tower with a Demonic Field I guess and Artemis sucks it in and forms a arrow.

That's all I got, I know I know I speculated, but Its a theory right? So what do you think?

    • I believe Artemis is in fact some kind of Devil Arm so it would only require minimal amounts of demonic energy from Dante to operate as far as ammunition goes. Dante's guns also use his demonic energies as ammo as well I'm pretty sure. That's why he is never seen reloading in the anime or the games. I really wonder what the point of putting holsters on his character model in DMC3 was if it wasn't even needed. Stuff like this is a cosplyers worst nightmare.

    • Artemis falls into the same catagory as Nightmare Beta and Pandora. Demon gun.

Dantes bullets are actual bullets, its shown almost every time he shoots and generally don't to much more than regular bullets. He hasn't displayed the ability to materialize objects from energy. Vergil has siggnificantly more experienced in this field and he only shows solidified energy rather than actual conversion.

I've always assumed that he has some knowledge of magic, like a "never empty" spell so his mags are always full.

As for gun storage, he could have knowledge of interspacial spells that hebdidnt gain until after DMC3.

    • Hmm, if you are right LegionZero that they are real bullets, then how do you explain the endless supply of bullets that come out of his guns when he executes Honeycomb fire with the speed and duration. He also never pulls out any bullets they just keep coming.

As for Nero, he isn't quite half demon, he is merly a human, so his bullets, seen in the cutscene when he reloads his Blue Rose, he fills in a new pack of bullets that come out from his pockets into the barrel, so I guess what you see in gameplay, might just be energy from his devil bringer infused into his gun, not bullets. But in the cutscene the energy comes out before he reloaded his gun. So I am unsure about Dante's ammo.

I don't like thinking about this too much, I just like watching the humor to when Dante fired with Honeycomb fire and Rain Storm and when I got Pandora's Revenge for the first time, I was Astonished and didn't expect what happened. The explosion was too funny and mindblowing, a laser cannon explosion. HA no, what about a primordial atom explosion.

    • Also I've always wanted something like Artemis, realisticly I should take my theory and just make a fully functioning Rail Gun that looks like it. Of course I don't have the materials to make one and I don't really need guns or weapons, in the real world, its not impossible, just really really difficult to make rail guns and at home, HA!....no.

    • Dante could use a spell that automatically refills or produces an infinite amount of bullets. Trish may do the same thing.

Nero definitely reloads. He never fires his gun more than 6 times in cutscenes and and is explicitly shown to need to reload. He even has an animation after shooting where he empties the chambers.

Lady also is shown having to reload in cutscenes but in her boss battle she will never run out of ammo and in 4:SE she shoots forever. Story-wise she runs out eventually.

In gameplay, no one has to reload to keep from interupting gameplay, ive heard that Kamiya specifically mentioned this. So citing gameplay is pointless.

    • Still fun to understand right? Thats why we have threads to put theories and help each other out. Thats what I've learned.

    • But I still don't get how Dante carries his guns Ebony and Ivory around. He used a back holster in DMC 3 but is never seen using that holster again. How in the world does he travel with those things and fight demons so easily?

    • I just guess he grown attached to them, I would, so he just leaves them out and so I would guess the cutscene is the realistic facts as gameplay. Well...we just don't understand it very well and I will stick with cutscene to understand whatever is in the games.

    • Just how do people cosplay as Dante when the devs make stuff like this? People do dress up as Dante no doubt, just how do they carry the guns as DMC 1 and 4 Dante when his character model in thoses games lack the equipment needed?

    • Hmm lack of equipment, Nah uhh...I don't know anymore so maybe we'll never know. So we'll see ya, I hope you will join me in my thread, when I make one.
