Starter Guide Header 2

DmC: Devil May Cry is a reboot of sorts that is not directly related to previous games in the series. That being said, the game is also prequel in a sense, beginning with Dante's younger, demon-hunting days in Limbo City. Eventually, he becomes closer to the traditional Dante we know and love.
Notable Characters:

In DmC: Devil May Cry, Dante explores Limbo, a dimension that runs parallel to our own. Limbo appears bright, but also warps and changes at times. Living beings in the real world appear ghostly and ephemeral. As Dante explores the shifting world, pathways open and close to him, accosting him thoughout the game.
Important Locations

A variety of Demons stalk Limbo, or are seemingly summoned by the city itself. While the enemies are mostly unique, they do follow some similar trends established earlier in the series, many appearing similarly inspired in design. From Death Knights, to Witches, to deadly bosses, DmC brings in a new host of enemies to kill.
Notable Opponents

What would Dante be without a mix of stunning melee weapons and deadly firearms? DmC: Devil May Cry features a host of new weapons, as well as Dante's classic dual pistols: Ebony & Ivory (DmC). It also features the Revenant, a sawed-shotgun inspired by the classic version.
Notable Weapons

DmC puts the reigns of the Devil May Cry series into the capable hands of Ninja Theory. The studio behind Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword, both of which clearly inform the design of DmC. Combat now appears significantly faster and more focused on aerial maneuvers. Dante can switch weapons and combat modes on the fly, giving him the ability to unleash brutal combos with artistic flurries.
